I.D. Food Hub

We are an intersection of primary resources the community can access for free. Where locally grown produce, donated non-perishables, and food that otherwise would have been wasted, can be prepped as delicious nutritious meals. Where local nutrition meets local kitchens, and recipes are shared.

Where the community comes to converse, and conversation is used as navigation to find housing, healthcare, employment, clothes, toys and more.

We are an organic product of the community meeting community needs, starting with food.

We are the Heart Beet of the I.D!

Whittier - I.D. Food Hub

It all started with Reynaluz Juarez. Who for years organized in the international district to conect people to resrouces.

The week of her passing in February 2021, she was working in the portables to create a food pantry. A neighborhood food hub committee, which was funded by the EPA’s small grant program, and which Reyna was a member of, decided to continue her legacy by continuing her work, to create a food pantry. A few months later, the I.D. Food Hub was open, and is still open to this day.

Aliana started at cooking at the Food Hub when she was only 13 with her mom Monique. She is now 14, and demonstrates how youth is can lead the way!

Aliana cooks fresh meals using both non-perishables and donated locally grown produce every food.
